This bourgeois house with a garage is located in a quiet little village. The house stands on the edge of the village, overlooking the surrounding meadows and woods.
House from the 1930’s
Built in 1931, the house is based on a bourgeois property with the characteristic central entrance/hallway with rooms on either side of it. The ground floor comprises a front-to-back living room with parquet flooring and a wood burner, and across the hallway, a fitted kitchen with storage cabinets, a small larder, and a log burner. Behind it, the staircase and to the back a bathroom fitted with a shower, washbasin and washing machine. From the hallway you can access the large garage with a concrete layer over part of its floor (and a cement-fibre roof with asbestos). The house is laid over a full-size cellar accessible from the ground-floor that also has an external access door to the garden.
On the first floor there are four good sized bedrooms plus a 5th smaller room currently used as a storage area, but that could easily be converted into a bathroom. More rooms could be made in the spacious attic above if you wish.
Still to finish
Although the house has double-glazed windows it is still quite rustic-looking, and you could add some finishing touches here and there. Many tiles on the kitchen floor are loose, wood is roughly processed with screws still visible, the roof needs attention and painting inside and outside needs to be done. But you can do everything yourself at your own pace and enjoy your stay in the meantime!
Outside
In front of the house there is a small terrace and there are some trees in the garden. There is also a capped well approximately 6.5 metres deep. Most of the land is made up of pasture and so far, it’s been maintained by a local farmer for hay. So even outside, you can roll up your sleeves if you like.
