Back in peasant times

A narrow winding track takes you back into peasant times at the top of the hill. The road is steep, but the view afterwards is stunning. You look over the treetops and other buildings in the hamlet far across the Limousin countryside. The farm complex consists of a large barn, old house, old pig shed and a bread oven. Everything as it used to be, with its charm and simplicity, but with stunning views.

The house
The house consists on the ground floor of a simple kitchen and small living room. The ground is against the back of the house, hence the basement/utility room was made here. The wooden built-in cupboards, fireplaces and wooden beams create the ambiance. Removing internal walls could turn this into a more contemporary space. The old central heating system is on the kitchen wall. Replacing it for a more modern system is obvious.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, a separate toilet and a small bathroom. The blue-tiled bathroom has a bathtub, bidet and sink. The original wooden floors are beautifully waxed, but are hidden from view by rugs. The attic is high and large enough to make more living space. Now it is in use as storage space.

In the habitable house, you can start indulging in modernisation and improvement at your own pace.

Outbuildings
The barn consists of two layers. The lower layer has a concrete floor and is high enough to be put to good use. Cows used to stand here, the chains are still hanging... The floor of the barn is accessible by vehicle through large doors. The area of over 200 m² is ideal as storage or work space.

In the garden, there is a bread oven that is set up as a guest room. The former pig barn with its three doors would also lend itself well to this. The plot slopes, but is easy to maintain (grass). In front of the house is a terrace with nice views. The spring in front of the barn used to supply the animals with water. Now this intimate plateau could also serve well as an attractive terrace.

Surroundings
The house is located in a remote hamlet. For shopping, you have to go to the villages Chateauneuf la Foret or Eymoutiers. Both villages have all amenities such as restaurants, supermarket, garage, school etc.
