House in a peaceful setting with breath-taking views!

Located just a few miles from a nice vibrant village in the northern part of the county of Corrèze, this house built in the 1970’s is in an ideal spot for those seeking peace and quiet in a pastoral setting. The property can be lived in straightaway but could do with an update (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) and could either be a fantastic holiday retreat or a permanent residence. It is a single floor dwelling over a full-size basement that is accessible from an internal staircase. On the ground floor, the main entrance is on the gable wall with a central corridor that allows access to a 130ft² equipped but not fitted kitchen with built-in cupboards, a bright 200ft² dining room with beautiful varnished solid chestnut floors and an open corner fireplace. Then a 65ft² bathroom with a shower and a washbasin and cute looking retro-style floor tiles and finally, two 110 and 150ft² bedrooms, each with a built-in wardrobe and chestnut floors. The attic’s floor is insulated but a proper floor and access staircase need to be installed to make this space convertible. The basement comprises of a large 380ft² garage, a cellar and a boiler room with an oil tank and boiler from the late 90’s. Please plan for some updating works, such as the electricity (partly), plumbing (hot water tank) and a new septic tank. The house is East-West facing and is on the end of a tiny hamlet (3-4 houses), straight after an old uninhabited farmhouse. It has a dominant view over the surrounding countryside in three different directions! There is a pretty 2/3-acre garden that is partly fenced in, a small terrace in the shade of a nearby tree by the entrance. The property is located just a few minutes from a village with most amenities and 15 minutes from a picturesque and touristy town with a gorgeous swimming lake. Reaching Limoges will take you 50 minutes in the car and 10 more minutes will get you to its international airport.

Chamberet

Chamberet is a lively village providing all necessary services. The village has a small supermarket, bakery, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser and several restaurants. And off course a bar/tabac for your daily journal. Every second Saturday of the month a petit marché (market) is held at the main square. In summer this market is held every week. The larger village Treignac is about 10 kilometers away. Treignac is an old town with its lovely winding streets, lake and nice restaurants. It also provides a large supermarket. It is an attractive area for hiking, cycling, fishing or parapente. The villages of Brive and Limoges are to be reached in 45 minutes drive. Both cities have an airport with (nearly) daily flights to the UK.
